A few issues

Hi Garth,

We just moved into North Oavkville some six months ago . Valleyridgeridge drive to be precise those new Mattamy homes that's come off of Bronte and Dundas. Being an immigrant from India and having made Canada our home, thought this aint a bad time after all to bring a few questions up that's on my mind like I am sure is on many others.

A volunteer just dropped off some of your literature and i have just finished glancing though them.

Here are some questions that I have :

#. Tax reliefs/ GST cuts / Increase of personal tax exemption limit etc.

All these various measures that will come as a welcome relief to all of us will eventually draw down the National surplus or will need to be financed. My question is how is the New Conservative govt going to finance this huge Financial Bill. Is there going to be a dark unseen side of reducing Public school programs/ healthcare funding etc. Or will we see a Deficit financed budget that will ultimately increase the National debt and will create a higher demand push inflation. Or is this a similar political gimmick that has been borrowed from the pages of McGuinty election campaign. I think you should provide hard financial numbers to balance these costs.

# Allowing single Income Family Split is very recommendable indeed and very fair too.

# $1200.00 grant to all families with kids below six irrespective of Income level will not be termed level playing filed by any standard. The reasons are obvious and does not need any further elaboration.

# I for one do not trust the Liberal government anymore and would be considered what's called a swing voter. Here are some concerns that has been raised in many immigrant families specially :

-Steven Harper and the conservatives is perceived as the Canadian equivalent of the Republicans of US. We are concerned that your government will push the agenda of the Christian far right of the US. How can you allay such fears.
- What will be your governments stance in terms of further Immigrations and acceptance of Foreign educational qualifications in Canada. This limitation I must say has hindered a substantial contribution that immigrants coming from other countries could have made.
- Military spending and making Canada strong is a double edged sword. Are we here talking of increasing ur defense budget or are we talking of being a bigger player in the international Policing scene. Shall we start seeing more Canadian Dead body bags in replacement of US forces. Who are our enemies in this world and why does Canada need to build a strong Military Force.

Canadian Contribution to the global menace of Terrorism can be better served by other civilian means than Military. Perhaps a perceived sense of failure to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Americans maybe driving this agenda.

These are some of my concerns that I would like you to address as our chosen representative.

Thanks once again, I can be reached at 905 xxx xxx if you need to get in touch .
